TYIN tegnestue architects are known for their small-scale built projects in underprivileged areas around the world, but you might not know just how open this firm is about sharing their work. They believe that by sharing their knowledge, they are encouraging students and young architects to learn by building. The architecture co-operative has even created the "TYIN Architect's Toolbox," a downloadable guide to working on design-builds in places of need. The TYIN Architect's Toolbox is a booklet of watercolor illustrations accompanied by quirky blurbs and quotes. According to the architects, it's "mobile, sturdy, practical and simple to use." It contains suggestions on what types of tools, whether they be concrete or abstract, to bring along when embarking on a new project. For example, both the whiteboard and the heart are praised for their potential to contribute to the process and final product.
